Organisation Setup
Your organisation is the top-level container in AssetBuddy. It holds all your sites, assets, users, templates, and configuration.
Initial setup
When you first register and create your organisation, AssetBuddy runs an onboarding flow:
- Create your organisation — enter your organisation name
- Default data is seeded — system default asset categories, check templates, and roles are created
- Create your first site — add your primary location
- Create your first asset — add a piece of equipment to get started
After onboarding, you can continue adding sites, assets, users, and templates at your own pace.
Organisation settings
Organisation settings are managed by the Owner role. From the Organisation settings page you can:
- Edit the organisation name
- View your plan — see which plan your organisation is on
- Manage settings — configure organisation-wide preferences
Roles and permissions
The Owner can configure roles and permissions from the Roles & Permissions page:
- View all system roles and their current permissions
- Customise permissions for each role
- See which permissions are available
See Roles Explained for details on what each role can do.
