Managing Notification Preferences
You can control which notifications you receive and through which channels.
Accessing your preferences
- Click your profile icon in the top navigation
- Go to Profile settings
- Find the Notification Preferences section
How preferences work
Notification preferences are stored per channel (e.g. email) and per notification type. By default, all notifications are enabled — you only need to change preferences if you want to opt out of specific notifications.
For each notification type, you can choose whether to receive it via:
- Email — toggle on or off
H&S notification opt-in
If you have the Owner role, you have an additional setting:
- Receive H&S notifications — when enabled, you'll receive the same notifications as H&S admins (check failures, overdue alerts, defect reports, etc.)
This is off by default for owners. Enable it if you want to stay informed about day-to-day H&S events across the organisation.
Recommendations by role
| Role | Recommended notifications |
|---|---|
| Owner | Enable H&S notifications if you want oversight; otherwise, leave them off |
| H&S Admin | Keep all notifications enabled — you're the primary person who needs to know |
| Site Manager | Keep all notifications enabled for your site |
| Supervisor | Keep check reminders and defect assignments enabled |
| Operator | Check reminders and defect assignments are most relevant |
| Contractor | Defect assignments and the contractor summary are most relevant |
TIP
If you're finding email notifications overwhelming, consider keeping in-app notifications enabled but turning off email for less critical notification types. You can always check the notification bell in the app for a full list.
